It is relatively easy to navigate, but is teeming with life and contains pools of dangerous acid. Its many tunnels and caverns are chiefly comprised of blue, orange and occasionally green rock, hence its designation as the rocky zone. The original Brinstar is the first area Samus Aran explores during her first mission on Zebes.
